Sternbilder | Constellations – A Quartet Game About the Stars
Over a hundred years ago, a simple yet beautifully designed quartet game was published in Germany under the name“Sternbilder”, which translates to“Constellations.”I came across an original copy of this game in a mountain cabin in Austria and was immediately drawn to the clear, minimalist illustrations of the constellations – aesthetically pleasing and easy to understand.

We had a great time playing the game and exploring the constellations – many of which were completely new to me. This experience inspired me to completely rebuild the game from scratch: I redesigned all 12 constellations, each consisting of 4 cards, refined the graphics with great care, and translated the entire game into English.

The cards and the box are produced using high-end printing processes in Germany. We’ve already had excellent experience with production, and the sample shown reflects the final quality. This game is 100% Made in Germany, crafted with precision and care.
Whether you’re just getting into astronomy, looking for a playful and educational experience for children and young adults, or simply want to enjoy a beautifully made game about the stars, Constellations offers a fun and approachable way to learn about the star formations of the southern hemisphere.

Game Rules
In the quartet game, four cards belong to a group, the so-called „quartet“. The fact that these four cards belong together is indicated by the group designation and by the identical text printed on these cards. Each individual card among the four cards belonging together in a quartet is labelled by the line in red.
Any number of people can take part in a quartet game, but there must be at least but there must be at least three. At the start of the game, the cards are carefully shuffled and then dealt evenly to the other players.
It is now the task of each player to ask the other players for the cards they still need for a quartet, which are then discarded as a trick when all four cards of a quartet have been collected.
The dealer begins and asks a fellow player for a card that is missing to form a quartet. If the person has the desired card, he must hand it over to the questioner, who may then ask any other player. If the interviewee does not have the desired card, the turn passes to the inter-viewer. He may now ask questions himself until he has made a mistake, and so on.
The player who has taken the most quartets at the end of the game is the winner.
