Etchigo Tsumari Art Field

Our journey through Japan’s breathtaking artistic landscape began at the Echigo Tsumari Art Field, where we experienced the unique fusion of art and nature up close. The installations, spread across the rural area, offered us fascinating insights into creativity and the connection to the environment.

We continued on to the Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art MonET, which impressed us with its modern art collection and harmonious integration into the surrounding landscape. The works here reflect profound themes and invited us to reflect and linger.

An absolute highlight was a visit to the Tunnel of Lights by MAD Architects. This spectacular light installation transformed a simple tunnel into a magical experience full of colour and light effects. It was as if we had immersed ourselves in another world.

Finally, we visited the Hara Museum Arc, where contemporary art meets traditional Japanese aesthetics. The diverse exhibitions and tranquil surroundings of the museum provided a perfect end to our artistic journey of discovery.

Each of these venues thrilled us in its own way and showed us how diverse and inspiring the art scene in Japan is. We can’t wait to come back and discover even more!
