La Biennale Di Venezia 2022 The Milk Of Dreams

We visited the Biennale di Venezia 2022 and witnessed brilliant technology and classical art. Venice with the Biennale is a unique art cosmos in an Italian ambience.

The 59th Venice Biennale, titled „The Milk of Dreams,“ was a landmark event in the art world, running from April 23 to November 27, 2022. Curated by Cecilia Alemani, this edition celebrated the power of art to create alternative realities and new conditions of existence12.

The exhibition featured 213 artists from 58 countries, with 180 first-time participants. It showcased 1,433 works, including 80 new projects created specifically for this edition2. The Biennale focused on three main themes: the representation of bodies and their metamorphoses, the relationship between individuals and technologies, and the connection between bodies and the Earth2.

Notably, this Biennale was a triumph for female artists, with the central exhibition predominantly featuring women’s work3. The curator’s approach challenged traditional notions of humanity, especially the concept of the white European male as the center of the universe1.

The event took place against the backdrop of global challenges, including the ongoing war in Ukraine. Despite these circumstances, the Biennale managed to present an optimistic view of art’s capacity to inspire and transform14.

The Venice Biennale 2022 will be remembered as a renaissance of sorts, showcasing art’s power to protest, adapt, and empower in the face of adversity4.
