World Fusion Deck

Three cultures. Three game worlds. One deck. Poker, Japanese Hanafuda, and Mexican Lotería combined.

The World Fusion Deck was born from a simple but powerful idea: games can connect people. Through travels across different countries, we experienced how card games can build bridges between people on the spot — even when language, background, and traditions are different. That experience inspired us to create a deck that is not only meant to be played, but also meant to bring cultures together.

With the World Fusion Deck, we combine three very different card game traditions into one single set: the strategic clarity of Poker and Big Two, the poetic visual language of Hanafuda, and the lively communal spirit of Lotería.

What makes this project special is exactly how different these three games are:

One is fast and competitive
One is symbolic and traditional
One is social, colorful, and instantly inviting

That contrast creates variety, surprise, and a completely unique play experience.

Each of the 54 cards is designed to function on three levels: with Poker indices in the corners, Hanafuda symbolism at the bottom, and a Lotería image at the top, numbered from 1 to 54.

This allows a single deck to transform depending on how you play it. It is a functional game system, but also a cultural crossover — designed for players, collectors, travelers, and anyone who loves discovering new ways to connect through play.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no other deck that combines all three of these games in one deck. That is what makes the World Fusion Deck more than just another card set: it is a meeting point between traditions.

Poker/Big Two – Strategic Climbing Game

For Poker and Big Two, the deck works through the familiar corner indices and suits. Big Two is a fast-paced climbing and shedding game in which players try to get rid of all their cards by playing higher singles, pairs, or combinations than the previous play.

Hanafuda – Japanese Seasonal Cards

For Hanafuda, players focus on the seasonal symbols and month-based imagery. The deck represents the 12 months with their distinctive visual identities, allowing players to enjoy traditional Hanafuda-style play such as Koi-Koi, where matching cards are collected to form scoring combinations.

Lotería – Mexican Picture Bingo

For Lotería, use the numbered images (1-54) as your caller deck. Each card features a unique traditional motif, creating a complete Lotería experience — vibrant, social, and full of iconic Mexican character.

Why this deck matters

The World Fusion Deck is for people who want more than a standard deck of cards. It is for those who love games, culture, travel, design, and shared experiences. One evening can begin with a competitive round of Big Two, shift into the elegance of Hanafuda, and end with the laughter and energy of Lotería.

This deck is not just about variety. It is about connection.
It is about the idea that a game table can become a place where cultures meet.
